Stress less with TALKWORKS

Free NHS wellbeing workshops

Stress less with TALKWORKS is a two-hour workshop introducing you to a range of techniques to help you manage stress. The workshop is a small introduction to what we can do to help you with your wellbeing.

The workshop covers managing when worry is taking over your life; creating manageable routines and tips to help you get a better night’s sleep. The session is all about teaching you some basic Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques and is led by two wellbeing practitioners who will talk you through the theory behind CBT and how to make manageable change. There are plenty of chances to ask questions but there is also no pressure to speak or have your camera on - you can engage as much or as little as you would like.

Our workshops are held online on Microsoft Teams with both daytime and evening dates available. To take part you will need a smart phone, laptop or computer, a working email address, and a confidential space. To go along with the session you will be given resources to help you remember and implement the techniques you learn, as well as lots more information on how and where to get further support should you wish for it.

The workshop is focused on education and is not group therapy. You will not be asked to share any of your own personal information or difficulties with the groups - though you are welcome to share if you feel comfortable! The day before joining the workshop, you will be asked to complete the standard set of questions that we will share with you.

If you are feeling unsure of whether TALKWORKS would be useful for you, this workshop is a great first step!

Your experience with us

Your feedback matters

“I could not fault the service I received. I was listened to and given so many different resources to help my anxiety and depression. I was so very low a year ago but with the amazing support from my therapist I feel more and more myself every day. Thank you TALKWORKS.”

“I was apprehensive about using the service thinking I wasn't "bad" enough but a talk to the cardiac group by a TALKWORKS practitioner gave me confidence to self-refer. I was referred with respect and taken seriously throughout, felt safe and was given tools and advice to help myself take control of my situation.”

“The therapy gently supported me to both understand and come to terms with my diagnosis and how it has impacted on me as a person for so many years. I felt I could be open and honest in a very safe space. I not only feel better, I understand myself better too.”
