Ruby from TALKWORKS runs the Great West Run for Open Up charity

One of TALKWORKS' trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Ruby Bird, will be taking part in the Exeter Great West Run on Sunday 25 May to raise money for Devon Partnership NHS Trust’s Open Up charity.

Open Up raises funds to support mental health and learning disability services as well as neurodiversity projects.

For Ruby, this run is about raising awareness of mental health difficulties and the help that’s available. Ruby said: "I have close family and friends who have struggled with their mental health, and I’ve seen how damaging it can be when support isn’t available. Working for Devon Partnership NHS Trust, I also see the positive impact that mental health services can have, but I know there are still gaps. That’s why I’m running for Open Up: to help raise money for the charity and to raise awareness about mental wellbeing."
