When you meet someone new, they often ask, 'what do you do for work?'
Our jobs can be a key part of how we view ourselves. They can also affect how we feel. Being in work, or out of work, can be stressful, and may result in us feeling low, anxious or worried.
If you are having a hard time because of work, TALKWORKS can help. If you are having therapy with TALKWORKS, you can access our employment support. By accessing employment support, you can learn coping strategies to improve your wellbeing and happiness.
How are you feeling?
You might be experiencing work-related stress because you have too much on your plate. Or you may be putting pressure on yourself to progress in your current role. Alternatively, you may be off sick or out of work and finding it hard to get a job.
This may make you feel:
- Stressed
- Anxious
- Low or fed up
- Tired and struggling to sleep
- More worried than usual
You might be thinking:
"I've been off sick for a long time."
"I feel burnt out."
"I want to get a job but I can't get past the interview stage."
"I think I might lose my job."
"My employer doesn't understand why some tasks are hard for me."
