Charlie thanks Sue for the employment support she received

Charlie accessed employment support through TALKWORKS after being made redundant and feeling uncertain about the best way to return to work. Through working with one of our employment advisors, she was able to update her CV and feel more confident with applying for a new job.

“Before being referred to Sue through TALKWORKS, I felt extremely anxious and uncertain about my future. Im being made redundant in June, and I didn’t know what I wanted to do next. I didn’t have an up-to-date CV, I felt completely out of the loop about what employers look for nowadays, and I genuinely didn’t know where to start.

“Working with Sue, my employment advisor, has changed all of that. From the very beginning, she was warm, cheery, supportive and consistently prompt. She helped me break everything down into manageable steps and guided me through identifying the types of roles that actually suit me.

“With her brilliant advice, I now have professional, up-to-date CVs ready to go, a clearer understanding of the job market, and a solid direction for my next steps.

“Sue signposted me to useful websites and resources. She encouraged me to start upskilling in areas that interested me, to help me progress into the roles I was aiming for. She even arranged an interview-preparation session, which boosted my confidence and helped me understand what modern interviews look and feel like.

“I have previously had career support from someone through work, and the experience simply didn’t compare. Sue has been consistently there, positive, encouraging, and incredibly knowledgeable. I genuinely looked forward to our sessions. She made me feel supported and capable at every stage. Since completing my time with Sue, I feel ready. I feel confident. I finally believe in myself and my ability to apply for new jobs and move forward in my career.

“I can’t thank Sue enough and I would highly recommend her to anyone who feels lost, anxious, or unsure about their next steps. She truly is one of the best.”
