Are you experiencing any physical or emotional side effects as a result of menopause? If so, you are not alone, and help is available.
Our 6 week TALKWORKS for menopause group is free for adults across Devon (outside Plymouth) to book onto. It provides information, strategies and techniques to reduce the impact of symptoms of menopause and perimenopause. The weekly sessions are two hours long and include:
- Studying symptoms of menopause, including hot flushes and mood changes, and how cognitive behavioural therapy can help
- Managing stress and anxiety as a result of hormone fluctuations
- Tackling unhelpful thoughts and 'brain fog'
- Developing healthy habits and boundary setting
- Learning strategies for improving sleep
- Exploring alternatives to hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and how to maintain progress
Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in discussions and exercises, but this is not mandatory and there is no pressure to do so
The courses will be running for six weeks online via MS Teams (one session per week) from the following dates:
Date | Time |
Tuesday 19 August | 15:00 |
Thursday 25 September | 17:00 |
Tuesday 21 October | 15:00 |
Wednesday 19 November | 10:00 |
One participant who attended our course said: "It was amazing. It was so generous of everyone to share so much of their experiences. I went home last night and began to feel ‘normal’ and ‘less alone’."
