Access support from TALKWORKS
Self-referK contacted TALKWORKS to access support for anxiety following the coronavirus pandemic. Through working with our therapists and employment support team, they have been able to get back on track.
"Having suffered from anxiety most of my life due to being a constant worrier, I have reached out to TALKWORKS a number of times. This has been for a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, emetophobia, work-related stress and challenges with a neighbour. Like many others, my anxiety increased significantly in COVID and I ended up being made redundant, which led to a severe spiral.
"The cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) offered to me from TALKWORKS helped me immensely. TALKWORKS also picked up that I may have attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) which never crossed my mind before and led to me being properly diagnosed with ADHD.
"I have always struggled with English and maths, and I was having huge anxiety with maths issues after having to manage affairs with my dear dads passing. I ended up having a dyscalculia test which I was then diagnosed with. I also have dyslexia and was supported by the employment support team who helped me so much with job application forms. It isn't just the tech side of it as dyslexia working memory causes blocks for application forms – it’s also the understanding and putting the correct information down.
"The different services and different skills of each therapist in TALKWORKS work well with every individual. Without all of the above I would still be in a very, very bad place. Thank you to TALKWORKS for all the help you have given me."
If you are struggling with anxiety, are feeling overwhelmed or don’t really feel ‘yourself’, our TALKWORKS team are here to help. You need to have hit rock bottom before you come and see us.
