Access support for sleep difficulties through TALKWORKS

Today is ‘World Sleep Day’ and this offers an opportunity to raise awareness of common sleep difficulties and the support available.

When you are persistently suffering from poor sleep, it can impact both your mental and physical health. Some of the side effects of poor sleep include, but are not limited to:

  • Low mood and morale
  • Feeling tired and run down
  • Increased stress
  • Lack of motivation
  • Difficulties concentrating

Here at TALKWORKS, we can offer support for adults who struggle to get to sleep or who regularly wake in the night. This includes one-to-one sessions with a therapist which can take place face-to-face, over the phone or by video call. During these sessions, our therapist will listen to the difficulties you are experiencing and then work with you to address how you are feeling and what you can do to get back on track. You can refer yourself to TALKWORKS by completing an online self-referral form or by calling 0300 555 3344.

We also offer Improving Sleep Workshops, where you can learn a range of useful tools and techniques to help you get a better night’s sleep. You can view the upcoming dates and times on the TALKWORKS website and book your place by calling 0300 555 3344.

These workshops can also be offered as a bespoke session for DPT teams and patient groups. Each session can be held for groups of 10 to 40 people, and can be delivered either face-to-face at a location of your choice, or online via MS Teams. To find out more or to book a bespoke session, please email dpt.talkworksworkshop@nhs.net.
