Become a volunteer
We are not currently recruiting any new volunteers into our service at present
Have you previously used TALKWORKS, or do you know someone who has? Would you like to have a voice in the development of our service and contribute towards the work of the NHS?
TALKWORKS is a service commissioned by Devon Partnership NHS Trust. We currently run a volunteering programme to complement the work of our staff and help improve patient experience.
Why volunteer for TALKWORKS?
- To learn new skills and try something different
- To feel more confident and make new friends
- To make a difference to the lives of adults in our local community
- To gain work experience in a mental health environment
If you would like to apply to become a volunteer at TALKWORKS to support our staff, please click the button below to contact the Devon Partnership NHS Trust volunteering team.
What do our volunteers do?
Volunteers at TALKWORKS will be able to get involved with a wide range of tasks including (but not limited to):
- Providing feedback on marketing materials and offering suggestions for service development
- Attending local events and assisting TALKWORKS staff
- Support with role-play scenarios for our high-intensity clinicians
- Helping out with inductions for new starters
- Talking about the work of TALKWORKS to members of the local community
- Supporting our patients by going into the community with them and assisting them on tasks that they may feel difficult to do on their own
We'll ask for 1-2 hours a week of your time to help make a difference to our service. You'll be offered full training and reimbursed for any expenses occured as part of your role.
Volunteer Archie shares his story
