Dani thanks TALKWORKS for helping her to manage anxiety
Dani contacted TALKWORKS after experiencing anxiety and worry following the birth of her daughter. Through working with a TALKWORKS therapist, she was able to reframe her thoughts and feel happier.
At seven months postnatal, I finally reached out for support after realising that the intrusive thoughts I was experiencing were starting to have a real impact on my day to day life. I was worried that my overwhelming anxiety would affect my ability to be the mum I wanted to be for my daughter. After speaking to another mum who spoke so highly of TALKWORKS, I reluctantly decided to self refer.
From the very beginning, I was so impressed by how quickly I was seen. Before long, I began more intensive therapy with Wren, my therapist, who supported me to set goals that, at the time, felt completely unachievable. I genuinely believed those kinds of goals were only achievable for other mums — not me.
But now, I can confidently say that not only have I achieved those goals, I’ve completely transformed both my life and my daughter’s life using the tools I learned from Wren. The change has been profound, empowering, and something I never imagined possible when I first reached out.
I’m incredibly grateful for the support, compassion, and guidance I received. Reaching out to TALKWORKS was one of the best decisions I’ve made.
