Jo thanks TALKWORKS for helping her find her way forward
Jo contacted TALKWORKS after experiencing work-related difficulties. Through working with one of our employment advisors, Sue, she was able to understand what she wanted from the job market and move forward.
The employment support I have received from TALKWORKS has been fantastic and l am so glad l signed up for it.
My life had gone through unexpected changes and I was struggling to adjust. I didn’t know if I wanted a job or could hold down a job or what type of job I could do at my age. Sue took the time to listen and understand my situation and never pushed too hard or too fast. She helped me process and deal with the negative effects of the bullying I experienced in my previous job. She was also able to empathise and offer practical advice with my increasing caring role for my father. Through our chats I was able to identify what I actually wanted in a job and from a job and how to go about getting it. I have a new up to date CV, I know how to write and tailor a covering letter, I can use ChatGPT and I can use Indeed to scan for jobs I am interested in.
Sue’s patience, skills and holistic approach made all the difference. I felt listened to, understood and empowered and would recommend this service to anyone who is struggling to adapt to change and finding the way forward that is right for them.
